The founders of the institute
The institute was founded on April 28, 2004 by Jean-Yves Desjardins and various colleagues trained by him who joined forces.
The founders of the institute are people who have made a financial and professional contribution to ensure the spread of Sexocorporel in Europe and America. These people deserve our admiration and recognition.
The list of the founders of the iSi can be found here.

Honorary member
- Professor Jean-Yves Desjardins is an honorary member of the Institute and bears the title of “Honorary President of the Institute” ad personam and for life (the only title he holds).
- Anyone who has been invited by the Board of Directors and has accepted this nomination in writing is an honorary member. This person enjoys a high level of professional recognition – mostly in the field of sexology, but not necessarily – and has significantly contributed to the development of sexocorporel.
- The honorary member does not necessarily have a training in sexocorporel.
- The Board of Directors submits its proposal for the nomination of an honorary member to the General Assembly. The General Assembly must give its approval before the Board can ask the person concerned.
- The title of honorary member is not in itself an authority to teach Sexocorporel.
- The honorary member is exempt from the payment of membership fees.
- The letter with the request to a person for nomination as honorary member and their answer (if given) will be kept in the archives of the iSi.
- The rights and privileges of the honorary member, as well as his possible exclusion, are regulated in the statutes of the institute.

- Have a certificate or endorsement of basic training in sexology or training deemed by the Membership Committee and the Board to be equivalent, or have done work equivalent to basic training in sexology.

Trainers and supervisors of the iSi are subject to special criteria to remain on the list of “Clinical Sexologists iSi”.

- The rights and privileges of the full member, as well as his or her possible exclusion, are regulated in the statutes of the Institute.
(Associate) Member
- In order to obtain the title of Associate Member, a person must apply to the Secretariat of the iSi using the application form.
- The associate member must have completed at least one stage of training in sexocorporel.
- The change from Student Member or Sympathising Member to Associate Member is not “automatic”.

Studying member
- As a participant in an iSi-recognised sexocorporel training, membership as a student member of the iSi becomes obligatory. This enables the student member to support the institute, to receive the magazines free of charge and to inform himself about the different activities of the iSi.
- The respective training institutes are responsible for applying for membership and paying the membership fee of the students in the basic course (1st round). Subsequently, student members who continue their education are responsible for paying their membership fees themselves.
- At the beginning of the advanced course (2nd round), membership as an “extraordinary member” can be applied for. An extraordinary membership of 2 years is required for the certification as Clinical Sexologist iSi. Otherwise the membership can be extended over all training courses as a “student member”.
- There is no “automatic” transfer from the category of Student Member to Associate Member or Sympathetic Member. An official request must be made by the member and renewed annually.
- The student member must be a student in an iSi-recognised sexocorporel training course.
- The rights and privileges of the student member (as well as his/her possible exclusion) are regulated in the statutes of the institute.

- Any person who is interested in Sexocorporel but does not meet the criteria of the other categories can become a Sympathie member (e.g. a person who participates in the seminars “Vivre en Amour”, a professional with clinical experience, a retired person, persons with experience in education or pedagogy, etc.)
