Professor Jean-Yves Desjardins, psychologist and clinical sexologist, for more than 40 years, he dedicated his life to the study of human sexuality. His reflections on the subject began when he was still a young theologian. After many years of study in various disciplines, he decided to concentrate his work on clinical sexology. For Jean-Yves Desjardins, sexology was a science in itself. For this reason, over the years he realized one of his dreams by founding, together with Claude Cr\u00e9pault, the Department of Sexology at the University of Quebec in Montreal (UQAM) (www.sexologie.uqam.ca<\/a>).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

As a result of his clinical observations and research, Jean-Yves Desjardins developed the sexocorporel. This model of sexual health was taught at UQAM from 1968 until Professor Desjardins retired in 1988. He then continued his teaching in Quebec and Europe in order to disseminate it further. In the 1980s, Jean-Yves Desjardins was very active in the development of various pedagogical and audio-visual teaching tools (see below), in addition to his clinical and academic activities. For more than four years, he hosted a daily radio show. In this way he contributed to the dissemination of sexological knowledge in the population. At the same time, he led hundreds of extremely successful seminars in Quebec under the title “Vivre en amour” (Life in Love). These seminars enabled him to reach hundreds of thousands of men and women who were looking for concrete tools to improve their sexual and love lives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Over the years, Sexocorporel has been structured and refined thanks to the help of many collaborators, both in Quebec and in France. Of particular note are the contributions of Fran\u00e7ois de Carufel and Claude Roux-Deslandes, who have been working for many years on structuring and schematising the various concepts of Sexocorporel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
